Previously, during the Expo 2020, the Visit Vietnam Year - Quang Nam 2022 with the theme “Quang Nam - Green Tourism Destination” was revealed at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre. Accordingly, the Visit Vietnam Year - Quang Nam 2022 will consist of 191 events and activities, with 10 of which are organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with more than 50 activities to respond to this event under 6 themes hosted by Quang Nam Province.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Phung Thi Thanh Thuy, Director of Vietnam Pavilion at Expo 2020 emphasised that Quang Nam is a land being blessed with rich cultural traditions and revolutionary history. It is also full of potential for tourism development with possessing magnificent natural and cultural features. Quang Nam is a home of 2 UNESCO-recognised World Cultural Heritage sites - Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary; and beside Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An Biosphere Reserve. Recently, the art of Bai Choi, a popular folklore style of singing in the Central Vietnam, has been added to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan, Vietnamese ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, shared his thoughts toward the reopening of tourism in Vietnam: “After 2 years of being severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism sector is showing signs of revival as activities resume in major tourism centres nationwide. This is a year of great significance to Vietnam to thrive and reach the target of welcoming 65 million visitor arrivals, including 5 million international visitor arrivals.”

Quang Nam Province was chosen to host the Visit Vietnam Year 2022 and put the attention to preparing this event. In addition, Quang Nam Province is now closely coordinating with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) as well as provinces and cities across the country to organise several of activities in response to the Visit Vietnam Year 2022, in order to contribute attracting domestic and international tourists to Quang Nam in particular and to Vietnam in general.
