Phu Quoc welcomes the first flight from Uzbekistan

(TITC) - On 1st November 2022, Phu Quoc Island City (Kien Giang Province) welcomed the first charter flight from Uzbekistan, marking a new step in the efforts to restore the tourism industry of Kien Giang Province (South).

At around 10.30 am, the flight number HY3211 of Uzbekistan Airways departed from Tashkent International Airport (in Tashkent, Toshkent, Uzbekistan), carrying 158 Uzbek passengers, landed at Phu Quoc International Airport after an 8-hour flight.

At the airport, flight crew members and passengers received a warm welcome with flowers and souvenirs, expressing the hospitality of Phu Quoc. The fact that airlines, travel agencies and tour operators bring tourists from other countries to Phu Quoc is an important step for Phu Quoc to continue promoting the image of Pearl Island to international tourists.

Uzbek visitors will stay in Phu Quoc for 10 days and visit around the island where owns many beautiful beaches, luxury resorts with romantic scenery, bustling entertainment spots, the uniqueness of the crafts, historical and cultural relics...

According information from Kien Giang Province, as per schedule, 4 direct flights from Uzbekistan to Phu Quoc will be operated every month. This is a starting point to push-up the development of tourism in the new era.

Since the beginning of the year, Phu Quoc has welcomed 528 international flights. The total number of domestic and foreign visitors is 1,743,938 arrivals, reaching more than 87% of the whole year plan.
