(TITC) – On 27th November 2022, Phu Yen Province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the conference to promote Phu Yen tourism to Mekong Delta region.

Appreciating the advantages of Phu Yen's geographical location, natural resources, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh - Chairman of VNAT, emphasized that these are very important factors for the strong development of sea, cultural and ecological tourism associated with specific elements of the land and people of Phu Yen.
The conference is a good chance to introduce province tourism and discuss on solution of promotion, tourism product development, Phu Yen tourism brand positioning. It’s an opportunity for business cooperation, connecting inter-regional tourism with 13 province/cities in the Mekong Delta and other tourism hubs.

VNAT’s Chairman asked the province to prioritize the development of outstanding tourism products such as: Sea tourism associated with high-class resorts; Cultural - historical tourism associated with national cultural heritage sites; Eco-tourism associated with Krong Trai Nature Reserve, North Deo Ca Forbidden Forest; Exploring travel combining cuisine, shopping...
He also required Phu Yen Province to focus on domestic tourism, improve the effectiveness of destination promotion activities, forming attractive tourism products and joining Vietnam tourism promotion abroad and e-marketing. Besides that, the province should pay attention to the development of human resources and the labor market, training and re-training.
Speaking at the conference, the leader of Phu Yen’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the province try to mobilize investment resources to infrastructure, social-economic development associated with tourism, enhance the quality of tourism products and services, towards building Phu Yen as a green, clean, safe, attractive and friendly destination.

In the first 11 months of 2022, Phu Yen welcomed over 2 million visitor arrivals, an increase of 5.8 times over the same period of last year. Tourism receipts increased 7 times over the same period.
At the conference, the delegates proposed a number of solutions such as regular professional exchange in promotion; participate in local tourism events; strengthen digital transformation in tourism; organize events to connect tourism businesses.
