Update: 23/03/2010
The third “Green Sunday” campaign was launched in Thanh Thuy district, Phu Tho province on March 21, attracting 3,000 youth union members and students.

The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Natural resources and Environment, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Phu Tho Youth Union

After the ceremony, Youth Union members planted trees along the two-kilometre river banks in Doan Ha commune. They also planted trees at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in Dao Xa commune and picked up rubbish in La Phu town.

In addition to the “Green Sunday”, the youth union in Phu Tho has organized a variety of activities to involve their members in environment protection. They have replicated the models: “Youth Green Volunteers”, “Green-clean-beautiful villages” and many other Yoth programmes to keep their living environment healthy and re-green bare hills.

These activities and models have been expanded to offices, factories and schools in the province to raise public awareness of environmental protection.
