The People's Committee of Ha Giang province held a ceremony on the morning of January 1 to welcome the first tourists to the province in 2023.

The visitors included artists from Ho Chi Minh City, who came to explore the land and people of the northern mountainous province.
In 2022, Ha Giang tourism witnessed a strong recovery, thanks to its communication strategies and effective adaptation solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, the province welcomed more than 2.2 million holidaymakers, including more than 71,000 foreigners from 136 countries and territories around the world. The local tourism sector earned a total revenue of more than 4.5 trillion VND, up 165% year-on-year.
* A similar welcome ceremony was held at Dong Hoi airport in Quang Binh province by the provincial Tourism Department and Provincial Tourism Association to greet Vietjet Air’s flight VJ262, carrying 180 passengers, including 35 foreigners.
The passengers departed from Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City and received fresh flower bouquets and souvenirs upon their arrival at Dong Hoi airport.
Leaders of the Quang Binh provincial Department of Tourism also extended their best wishes for the health of the passengers and expressed appreciation for the tourists who chose Quang Binh as their first destination in this new year.
In 2023, Quang Binh targets to serve 3 million-3.5 million visitors, including 100,000 foreigners, and gain 3.4 trillion to 3.9 trillion in tourism revenue.
* Meanwhile, Mang Den town in Kon Plong district of the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum attracted a large number of visitors on the first day of 2023.
The tourists were invited to join various activities, which are being held within the framework of the ongoing Mang Den Culture - Tourism Week.
