The Con Dao National Monuments Conservation Centre in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh Province, held a ceremony on April 14 to open an exhibition themed "Con Dao - Tra Vinh connects culture and tourism” at the General Museum of Tra Vinh Province.
Delegates to the exhibition learn about national relics, especially Con Dao Prison.
Con Dao National Monument Conservation Centre displays images and introduces them according to the themes, such as special national relic Con Dao Prison, Con Dao District, 113-year history (1862-1975); Con Dao - Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province in the hearts of Vietnamese people, and Con Dao - landscapes and development achievements.

The General Museum of Tra Vinh Province introduces the typical traditional culture of the Kinh, Hoa, Khmer and Cham ethnic groups of the province, Tra Vinh tourism, and friendly destinations.
The exhibition is a practical activity to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the reunification of Vietnam (April 30, 1975 - 2023), the 130th birthday of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - 2023), and the Chol Chnam Thmay Festival of the Khmer people in Tra Vinh Province.
The exhibition affirms the great role and contribution of generations of Vietnamese patriotic and revolutionary soldiers in the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the American imperialists. At the same time, the event aims to honour and pay gratitude to the revolutionary soldiers and patriots who were captured and imprisoned by the enemy in Con Dao Prison.
Primary school students in Ward 8, Tra Vinh City, listen to an introduction about Con Dao, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, a cultural and tourism destination.
The exhibition also contributes to promoting communicate to protect the sovereignty of the sea and sacred islands of the Fatherland, promoting the value of cultural heritages of the ethnic groups of Vietnam, and attracts tourists to Tra Vinh Province and Con Dao, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
The exhibition will run until May 22, 2023.
