Announcement ASEAN Community Based Tourism Award for Sin Suoi Ho Village

Sin Suoi Ho Commune is home to 944 households (about 5,100 people including 98% of Mong and Dao ethnic groups). The population is distributed into 10 villages including Sin Suoi Ho Village with 100% of Mong ethnic people.

This place has cool climate all year round, diverse ecosystems, fresh landscape environment and especially the people here are very friendly and hospitable.

People in Sin Suoi Ho village mainly live on agricultural production, raising cattle and poultry, growing orchids, cardamom and providing tourism services.

Since June 2015, Sin Suoi Ho village has been recognized by the People's Committee of Lai Chau province as a community-based tourist site. It was ranked by the Vietnam Tourism Association as one of the four most attractive community-based tourist attractions in Vietnam in 2020.

Since then, Sin Suoi Ho village has focused on developing infrastructure such as building roads, markets, and parking area. The village also focuses on developing human resources for tourism service such as sending children to study courses related to developing tourism such as restaurants, hotels, homestay, cooking, English. Besides, teams of narrators, art performance teams, sports teams, motorbike taxi teams are established to serve tourists.

Currently, Sin Suoi Ho has 20 households participating in homestay services and 6 households providing food services, one cooperative. The village can host over 300 visitors per day.

From 2015 up to now, on average, each year the community tourist attraction in Sin Suoi Ho Village welcomes over 20,000 visitor arrivals.

Total annual revenue from tourism and trading of orchids averages over 3 billion VND, the average income is over 20 million VND/person/year.
