(TITC) – The second Ho Chi Minh City River Festival 2024 under the theme "Legendary Voyage" will take place from 31 May – 9 June aiming to promote land, people, cultural identity and typical tourism of the city.

Numerous activities take place during the festival:
Opening Ceremony: 8:00 p.m. on 31 May at Khanh Hoi Dragon House Area - Saigon Port with the art show "Legendary Voyage".
This is a heroic historical story told in the form of a contemporary musical and dance combining modern performance and entertainment technologies, taking place right on the Saigon River. According to plan, three fireworks display locations include: Saigon riverbank area (Thu Thiem Ward, Thu Duc City), this point was shot on a permanently anchored barge; Ba Son wharf area (Ben Nghe Ward, District 1) and Landmark 81 riverbank park area (Ward 22, Binh Thanh District).
Water sports activities: HCM City Open River Swimming Championship 2024 taking place on 1 - 2 June at Bach Dang Wharf. The first HCM City Stand Up Paddle Board Championship on 2 June at Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal.
In addition, shows of sailboats, jet skis, sailing boats, stand-up paddleboards, and paragliding from 7 - 9 June at Bach Dang wharf area (District 1). Water canoe demonstrations, Slalom performances, paragliding, SUB rowing experiences... from 5 - 7 June at Ngoi Sao Viet (Viet Star) Wharf (District 7).
Space of Tren Ben Duoi Thuyen (on the wharf and on the boats, meaning on the bustling scene with boats passing back and forth): recreating the "South-Western Floating Market", taking place from June 1 - 9 at Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal.
The space recreates floating market activities on the river, folk art activities and amateur music art programs; Artistic lighting decorations along the canal; Display agricultural products and fruits of different regions.
Fruit week of Tren Ben Duoi Thuyen: 4 - 10 June along the embankment of Binh Dong wharf (District 8). There are booths displaying fruits from provinces and cities; Folk art activities and art performances for tourists.
River parade activities: 9:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. on May 31; 8:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. from 1 - 2 June and 7 - 9 June at Nha Rong Area, Khanh Hoi - Saigon Port to Landmark 81. There are 30 - 40 boats traveling along the riverbank to promote the Festival and the river tourism activities.
Art decoration exhibition programs: from May 31 to June 9 with outdoor art exhibition, Light art decoration, Cultural space, art forms of intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO at Ben Bach Dang Park, Thu Ngu Flagpole.
Activities linking provinces and cities: exploration and discussions to evaluate linked waterway tourism between Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities. Coordinate with businesses to develop new waterway tourism routes.
Response activities: River Cuisine Contest on 1 June at Le Loi Street (District 1) and Southern Fruit Festival from 1 June – 31 August at Suoi Tien Cultural Tourist Area.
