(TITC) – Youth Union of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) coordinated with the Youth Union of Hanoi Tourism Corporation, on 16 June, to organize the Program of the Youth of the Tourism industry in Green Action 2024 in Van Yen district, Yen Bai province.

Secretary of the VNAT’s Youth Union, Ms. Vu Ha Giang shared, the program is an opportunitt for young people to express their aspirations and determination to contribute to developing sustainable tourism. This is a meaningful event, launching the "Tourism Youth - Green Action" movement for 2024 - 2025, under the direction of the VNAT’s Party Committee and leaders.
The program aims to raise community awareness about environmental protection at tourist destinations and develop green and sustainable tourism; supporting the local community about sustainable tourism business, as well as carry out social charity activities and make practical contributions to people's lives.
On 16 and 17 June, units participated in meaningful activities in Phong Du Thuong commune, Van Yen district, Yen Bai province including talkshow “Supporting and consulting for community tourism business”.
At the Talkshow, delegates and local people watched clips promoting Phong Du Thuong tourism, agricultural and rural tourism associated with cinnamon products; listenning to speakers from National Economics University, Me Farmstay (Cao Bang province) and Hanoitourist sharing about sustainable community tourism business models, experiences in homestay business, experiences in welcoming guests and serve tourists. At the same time, question and answer about process of operating and doing homestay tourism business.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Yen Bai province Mrs.Vu Thi Mai Oanh affirmed that this is a testament to the strong connection between tourism agencies, Van Yen district leaders and local people.
Question and answer section
The Deputy Director hopes that local people will increasingly promote green actions, green thinking and green connections. People need to change for green thinking and take measures to collect waste, propagate to tourists about environmental protection and green actions.
