Tourism environment protection week launched in Da Nang

With regards to the Da Nang Tourist Environment Protection Week launched by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, a painting contest entitled “Da Nang Tourist Environment Protection” has been launched for students of the city’s primary, secondary and high schools.

20 oil-color paintings on dustbins were displayed at the square in the front of Trung Vuong Theater.

At the opening ceremony of the event, leaders of VNAT and the city appealed to the community to protect and build Da Nang’s tourism environment, enhancing the quality of life and socioeconomic development.

The VNAT awarded certificates of merit to 17 individuals and organizations who have made outstanding contributions in environment protection.

There was also a parade featuring hundreds of cyclos, motorbikes and cars on the streets. People of the city gathered together to clean up the beaches such as My Khe, Thanh Binh and Xuan Thieu.

The Da Nang Tourism Environment Protection Week lasts to July 14, 2007.
