Training course on environmental protection and sustainable tourism development

On July 15, in Ha Long city, Indochina Junk Joint Stock Company in collaboration with Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and JICA project has jointly held a training course on environmental protection and sustainable tourism development.

It was attended by experts from the JICA project and over 50 participants who are captains, crew members and guiders of the company.

At the training course, representative of Environmental Protection Bureau has presented  various risks of environment pollution that negatively impacts socio-economic life, particularly negative environmental impact on Ha Long Bay; the bad influence of the  depletion of resources and environment on tourism development. He also emphasized on the trends and benefits of environmental protection combined with sustainable tourism development, along with the State's policies dealing with illegal activities.

Speaking at the training course, learners were provided with the a great deal of knowledge of environmental protection. They were guided how to use Sacchi disc, a tool to evaluate the quality of environment by the expert of JICA project, Mr. Norihisa Hirata. This is one of the great efforts that tourism enterprises have made in order to raise their awareness as well as learn about the  measures to be taken to protect the environment to achieve sustainable tourism development.
