Denmark funds Vietnam's CCAM
Update: 17/06/2009
In the framework of Vietnam's CCAM (Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation), Denmark and Vietnam on June 13 signed an agreement in Tam Ky City (Quang Nam Province), in which the Dannish government committed to fund the pilot projects in Quang Nam and Ben Tre Provinces.
The Denmark's total financial commitment to Vietnam's CCAM was some US$ 40 million, of which US$ 17 million would be poured in the two provinces. By receiving the aids, the Vietnamese provinces would be able to take appropriate activities to adapt to climate change, for instance, planting mangrove forest in Ben Tre to protect land from erosion.
