Almost Euro 5 million to preserve and use sustainably biodiversity

The Prime Minister has recently approved the project “Preservation of biodiversity in forest ecosystems in Vietnam” sponsored by the non-refundable ODA of the German Government. The project will be implemented in 3 years (2015-2018) with its total cost of Euro 4.95 million.

The project’s objectives are to establish basic conditions to protect and use sustainably the biodiversity at the central level and the forest ecosystem services in Vietnam, contributing to the green growth Strategy. 

The project’s main results include: Completion of document on preservation and sustainable use of the biodiversity and the forest ecosystem services; strengthening capacity of governmental agencies, private sectors, and social organizations on managing and developing forest; exchanging and applying experience related to biodiversity; minimization of forest loss and degradation (REDD+); improvement of FLEGT implementation (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade).
