Upsurge of revenue from tourism of Ho Chi Minh City

The representatives of People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) said, in the early 5 months of 2016, the total of international tourists coming to this city reaches to 2.1 million of visitors, rising 13.5 percent compared with the same period last year.

 

The total revenue of tourism including travel tour, hotels and restaurants in the early 5 months reaches VND 41,552 billion dong, increasing 4.7 percent in comparison with the same period last year. Especially, the foreign tourists coming to HCMC from Brunei has a tendency to increase during 2016.

 

Particularly in May 2016, international tourists coming to this city reaches to 328,039 arrivals, surging 9 percent compared with the same period last year, the revenue is estimated VND 7,948 billion dong, rising 5 percent in comparison with the same period last year.

 

According to Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department, the growth rate of the number of international visitors is considered as an improvement. This increasing is explained by the early 5 months coincides with the occasion of Tet when the high time for serving tourists occurs. Specially, the rising in the amount of travelers from Korea, Japan, America, Canada and oversea Vietnamese has a huge contribution.
