Viet Nam and Denmark strengthens cooperation to cope with climate change and the environment

President Tran Dai Quang affirmed that Viet Nam attaches great importance to developing good traditional relations with Denmark, an important partner of Viet Nam in the Nordic region. He also thanked the Danish government for choosing Viet Nam as one of 10 countries to implement its growth strategy.

 

Expressing gratitude to Denmarkfor maintaining ODA for Viet Nam in recent years, the President said the ODA from Denmark has been effectively ultilized in the priority areas of Viet Nam, including climate change response and the environment.

 

He also expressed his belief that Viet Nam-EU Free Trade Agreement, which will be signed soon, will open cooperative opportunities for both sides, including their business communitiesof the two countries. The President said that the Government of Viet Nam has been implementing many policies to encourage and create favorable conditions for foreign businesses, including Denmark, to operate in Viet Nam for long-term.

 

Danish Ambassador Charlotte Laur Sen iscommitted to do his best to promote investment and trade cooperation between the two countries.

 

Ambassador stressed that Denmark is willing to share experience and support Viet Nam in implementing the National Target Programme to Respond to Climate Change and the National Strategy for Green Growth.
