Update: 26/12/2021
(TITC) - Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, attended the online talkshow "Ho Chi Minh City: Reopening to welcome international tourists and overseas Vietnamese safely and thoughtfully" on December 23, 2021.

The talkshow was organized by the Vietnam Government Web Portal in the context that the Government Office has just issued Document No. 334 announcing the conclusion of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh on agreeing the plan to restore regular international flights to localities with a high factor of safety from January 1, 2022.

VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh emphasized that the reopening of international commercial flights is very essential to meet travel need of a great number of people, especially overseas Vietnamese at the end of the year. This is also a very significant solution for the tourism industry as well as the aviation industry, contributing to improving the pilot program to welcome international tourists and leading to a full reopening to welcome international tourists.

“If we delay in reopening the international flight market, not only will we lose the opportunity to attract tourists at the right time, but we will also delay in recovering other activities, we will lose a very good chance of the tourism industry as well as of the Vietnamese economy" - Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh said.

Representatives of localities and tourism businesses also expressed their expectation for the reopening international flights from January 2022 to facilitate recovery of tourism and other economic activities.

In addition, the communication on the tourism reopening roadmap has been focused. Over the past time, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has chaired meetings with chief representatives of overseas Vietnamese in key areas around the world to disseminate and introduce new mechanisms and policies, specific regulations on entry as well as travel in Vietnam.

In the coming time, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will continue to communicate more strongly about this information through the website https://vietnam.travel as well as the social networking platforms of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism so that the followers and community can easily and quickly update the necessary information for their trip, - Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh added.

Concluding the talkshow, VNAT’s Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh emphasized that the whole industry is currently focusing on implementing programs to stimulate demand and restore tourism activities in the spirit of safe and flexible adaptation. He suggested that localities and tourism businesses should pay attention to 6 key solution groups, including: ensuring safety in tourism activities; creating new products meet the increasing needs of visitors; enriching tourism communication; strengthening the application of technology and digital transformation in the tourism industry; continuing to offer practical support for businesses and workers in the tourism industry; training and retraining workers to restore tourism human resources, which have been heavily impacted during the Covid-19 pandemic.
