Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism signed a cooperation agreement with EuroCham

(TITC) - On March 7, at the Sofitel Saigon Plaza hotel, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) signed Memorandum of Understand in tourism cooperation.

MoU (period 2022 - 2024) focus on promoting the development of MICE tourism and culinary tourism; strongly strengthening market research activities; training human resources as well as sharing methods and experiences in tourism management.

Speaking at signing ceremony, EuroCham President Alain Candy said that Vietnam will fully open up to international tourism from March 15, which is really the good news that the European business community has been waiting for more than two years. EuroCham fully endorses the Vietnamese Government's efforts in revitalizing visa policies for international visitors, including Europeans.

Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa affirmed that through the cooperation between two sides, Ho Chi Minh City tourism have more opportunities to directly promote the image to European companies and citizens in Vietnam, as well as spread the image of Ho Chi Minh City to international friends. It is expected that in 2022, the city will welcome about 3.5 million international visitor arrivals including tourists from Europe.

In the same day, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism organized a signing ceremony of cooperation agreement with Vietnam Airport Ground Services Company Limited (Viags) for the period 2022-2027 in communication and promoting destinations. The parties are committed to supporting each other in conducting market research, building a tourism brand of Ho Chi Minh City, and coordinating to welcome MICE delegations to Ho Chi Minh City.
